Waiting on the word

As you probably know by now, I am working a summer sales program with Siren Inc. in Texas. When I was hired I was told that this was only a summer job but most likely, if I did well, they would find a job for me at the corporate office after the summer. My boss and many others have told me that I have been doing a wonderful job this summer. For a few weeks, since I almost went back to Arizona but was asked (told) to stay, I have been under the impression that I would have a job back there after the summer. They had SAID I would have a job, but never really told me what it would be. None of my questions to anyone were ever answered as to what my job would be so I began to wonder if I was going to have a job then. So, when I was asked to go to the extension office, I figured it would be a good time to find out what I would be doing after the summer back at corp. So I told my boss, if I was going to go to the extension office, I would need to be promised a job at corp. I am very glad I asked because she told me that they are trying to find a place to put me back there. I thought it would be a simple 'yes' and I would just Find out what I'd be doing there later. But it really has been a waiting game.My boss will be talking to the VP of the company 2 weeks from tomorrow to figure out what will be going on with me. It bothers me that it will take that long to figure that out cause, by then, if I don't have a job with Siren, I should have another job lined up. I wish they would just give me an answer so I would know what is going on. I just get the feeling that they will try to force me into the other office and then not give me a job, but I just have to trust them a little and have plans in case it doesn't work out.

The good news is everyone loves me here. (At least, that's what they tell me.)

Blast from the past

So I was randomly messaged through Facebook by an ex-girlfriend. This was really weird for me cause things didn't really end well with us. I caught her with her ex-boyfriend. Yeah, it wasn't very cool. After telling her that I really din't think of her and I don't think much of her at all, I asked why, after over 2 years and the way we left things, she would contact me again. She said, 'A book reminded me of you.' Yeah, a book. Awesome. I am glad I don't make a habit of using impolite words cause I would of had a few for her.

In other news, some of the reps thought it would be funny to get one fo my roommate onto the balcony and throw water ballons at him. Worst part was, he left the door open and now the house is sort of wet. Along with my laptop. Not surprisingly, I am not happy with them.

Glad for my Dad

The last few days have been pretty strange at work. I've had to go to the office at many strange hours. Yesterday, for instance, I was in the office till 4am this morning. Its nice to get all the credit for the work I do, but I realized I have to give credit to my Dad for this. He has instilled in me an amazing work ethic. I am going to be honest, I don't work nearly as hard as my Dad, but I like to think that one day I might be close to that. If one day, if I could be half as good a man as my Dad is, I would be pretty well off. Thanks Dad for everything you have helped me become.

And now it all catches up to me...

The last few nights, I had stayed up till 3am or later. Today, I took a 5 hour nap. Not really sure what to do with my self right now. I think I'll chill at the hot tub till I have to do some extra work. One of the other offices closed so now I am going stay up late counting their inventory.

Guess I should get started relaxing before work. Later folks!

Results from the weekend

Well I didn't win anything, but I didn't lose anything either! I did end up playing a game and losing but since we hadn't bet anything on it, I didn't lose anything. We ended up switching from Poker to Rats and then Spoons. Both fun games, both games I lost at. All these card games reminded me of youth camp. Oh, those great days! But it was fun to hang with some of these guys. Definitely a good night with some really cool friends.

A visit to Dallas

Today, I went to Dallas for E's birthday party. I had a really good time talking to her friends and spent a bit talking to her mom. Really nice lady, not that I am surprised at all! It was a cool restaurant with a pool randomly in the back. I guess that's just how they do it in Dallas.

When I left, I thought it would be fun to just drive through downtown Dallas and find my way back. I was really excited to add photos that I took on my phone to this post. Uploading issues have derailed my plans. Maybe I will edit it later and add these for you.

Also, all you kids out there should learn from me. When spending a lot of time outside in the sun, drinks lots of water. I wasn't feeling very well when I got home, but a nap helped take care of that.
